Open the Request tab, type a song or artist, and tap it from the list. Then hit Submit Request. Not sure of the exact name? Switch to ✨ Help Me Find It and just describe the song — the AI will suggest matches.
Your request goes straight to the DJ. They'll play it if it fits the vibe!
Tap the Vote tab to see every song in the queue. Tap the + button next to a song to vote it up — the crowd's favorites rise to the top of the list.
You get one vote per song. Tap again to take your vote back.
It's the fastest way in. Point your phone's camera at the QR code on the poster or screen and tap the link that pops up — it drops you right into this event. No typing, no code to remember.
No. SongVote runs right in your phone's web browser. There's nothing to install and no account to create. Just scan, request, and vote.
Tap a reaction (🔥 ❤️ 🙌) at the top to hype the DJ — it floats up live on the big screen. The Volume tab lets you tell the DJ if the music's too loud or too quiet, instantly and anonymously.
At a silent-disco event, you pick a color channel and listen through your own headphones. Each color is its own playlist you can vote on. Use the Listen Live button to hear your channel, and tap "switch channel" any time.
Go to Event Setup and sign in with your DJ password. In the Quick Start box, type your event name, pick a type (Live + PA, Silent Disco, or Online), and tap Save & Get My QR. That's it — you'll get a guest link and a printable QR poster to share. Takes about 15 seconds.
Everything else (branding, tips, must-play lists) lives in the optional "Customize this event" sections below — open only what you need.
It's the short code that makes a unique web link for your event — guests join at songvote.com/?room=YOURCODE. SongVote builds one automatically from your event name (for example, "Smith Wedding" becomes SMITHWEDDING), but you can change it to anything you like.
Public events show up on the SongVote home page so anyone can tap in. Private events are unlisted — only people with your code, link, or QR can join. Most weddings and private parties use Private. You'll find this under "Listing" in Event Setup.
Pick Silent Disco as your event type, then open the "Silent Disco Channels" section and turn on up to three color channels (Blue, Red, Green). Each color is its own playlist with its own voting and audio stream. Guests choose a color in their app and listen on their own headphones — you can broadcast each one live or run it from Spotify Auto-DJ.
Add your Venmo, PayPal, Cash App or Zelle under "Tips & Payments" in Event Setup, and guests get one-tap tip buttons. A guest can also bump their song — that flags it with a ⚡ for you and opens the tip jar. It's honor-system: a bump is a polite request, and you always decide the final play order.
Open the Co-Pilot (DJ Dashboard) to see the live request queue, your must-play checklist, and crowd feedback. If you turned on DJ Approval in Event Setup, new requests wait in a "Pending Approval" list until you OK them — otherwise they appear in the public queue instantly.
Never. Guests just scan your QR or tap your link — it opens in any phone browser with nothing to install and no account. That's what keeps the dance floor full instead of fiddling with downloads.
